Bologna - iconic dish Tortellini to celebrate San Petronio Day - Patron of Bologna

On October 4th, #Italy celebrated San Petronio Day, honoring the patron of #Bologna. The city's typical pasta dish, #Tortellini, was served in restaurants. This delicious, filled pasta boasts over 100 variations, but Bologna has only one official filling, registered with the Chamber of Commerce: spinach and ricotta. #Bologna is known as “La grossa, la Dotta e la Rossa,” meaning “the fat city” for its fantastic cuisine, “the red city” for its distinctive red buildings, and “the educated city” for housing Italy's oldest university.
