Today we celebrate World #SandwichDay. Venice is famous for its filled Tramezzini; paired with a glass of prosecco or Soave in one of its Bars, is my favourite pastime when I’m in Venice. Tramezzini are an institution, characterised by soft bread, generous fillings, and plenty of mayonnaise. They're often shaped like a "hump" or triangle and feature classics like tuna and egg, ham and mushrooms, cod and radicchio, as well as shrimp, crab, and sardines in saor. Popular places to enjoy them include Bar alla Toletta, Bar Perla (in Mestre), and Alla Filovia, renowned for the variety and quality of their fillings.
