The Florentine lily, also known as the giglio bottonato (a stylised iris), is the enduring symbol of Florence. It represents power, purity, and the city's prosperity during the Renaissance. Adopted in the 11th century, the lily was famously changed to a red flower on a white background by the ruling Guelphs in 1266. Typical Florentine colours include purple, along with warm tones of pietra serena and terracotta. These elements have inspired our Florence Art pattern for this fabulous Wrap Dress — ideal for both work and after-work events.
